About the Attorney

Marla Porter Gross is an international adoption attorney and a member of the Florida, New York and New Jersey Bars. Prior to starting her own international adoption law practice, she served as the Director of International Adoption Programs for an adoption agency. In earlier years, Marla served as an attorney with a non-profit adoption and foster care organization and spent several years practicing in the area of international law.

Marla was born and raised in New York. She received a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University in 1990 and a Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1993.

Marla is a member of the Florida Adoption Committee, the Florida Bar Family Law Section, the American Bar Association, the Broward County Bar Association and the Broward County Bar Association's Family Law Practice Section. She writes a monthly international

adoption column for the Weston Gazette newspaper and The Lifeline Connection, the newsletter for The Lifeline for Children, Inc. (a non-profit, volunteer, support organization for those who are seeking to adopt, have adopted or want educational information).

Marla is a member of RESOLVE and a 2-time recipient of the JAFCO "It Takes a Village" award for legal services to abused and neglected children, and also for being a "Big Sister" in their "Forever Friends" program. She is also the founder and Executive Director of My Education Guardian Angel, Inc., ("MEGA Education"), a non-profit charitable organization that assists foster children with funding for education and related support, supplies and materials.

Marla is also the parent of an internationally adopted child.
